The way that this sounds is more faithfull to Bear's original mix than the Miller seed shnid 106883.
From Grateful Dead Guide (deadessays.blogspot.co.uk)
There was a dramatic shift in Bear's production technique by the 3/12/66 show. He mentioned a synesthetic experience of seeing music circulating: ìMy knowledge of the true nature of sound dates back toÖone of the rehearsals we had in the house in Watts, when I actually saw sound coming out of the speakers. It was total synesthesiaÖ It was just a unique experience. And it so completely blew my mindÖI went around and inspected it very carefullyÖ And that became the foundation for all the sound work that Iíve done.î

Whether it was due to this experience or not, sometime in February or early March, Bear changed the way he mixed the Dead: ìI recorded the vocals in the left channel and the instruments in the right, Beatles style.î That remains the basic premise in every Bear production setup from 3/12 through July.
